We teach in Northchurch Social Centre (Berkhamsted), Alfred Rose Community Centre (Aylesbury), Gadebridge Community Centre (Hemel Hempstead), St Johns Ambulance HQ (Northchurch) and St Bartholomews school in Wigginton (near Tring).

We teach a range of standard dances including Waltz, Quickstep, Foxtrot, Tango, Viennese Waltz, Cha Cha, Rumba, Jive and Samba. As well as these standard dances we also teach Argentine Tango & Modern Jive.

For Easter weekend only we've decided to combine our Friday 19th and Sunday 21st April classes. On Friday there will be one improver class at 7:30pm and on Sunday there will be two classes, a beginner class as normal at 5:30pm and a combined improver class at 6:30pm.

We've changed our Tuesday night venue in Hemel Hempstead to the Gadebridge Community Centre.

Our new beginner class started on Sunday 24th February 2019 our Aylesbury, Alfred Rose venue.   Please E mail us if you would like to receive more details.

For details of all classes our dance school offers please see the Adult Ballroom & Latin classes section link to the left or see our quick reference below.

Social Practice night
Please see the classes page for details of our Wednesday practice night.

Additional partner dances
Argentine Tango, Salsa, Merengue and Modern Jive fall outside the Ballroom or Latin categories but also form part of our teaching repertoire.

Popular Sequence Dances
For everyone wishing to learn dances such as the Rumba One, Mayfair Quickstep, Sally Ann Cha Cha etc we are happy to teach these using private lessons.

Private lessons
All of the above tuition can also be carried out using prebooked private lessons. These are offered for people who wish to learn to dance outside of normal classes on a one to one basis e.g. fast track learning to join established classes, shift workers or for people who wish to learn a particular dance. They can also be used to learn extra figures or improve your technique if you already know Ballroom or Latin dancing.

If there is a group of you who want to learn to dance together we can also cater for this.

Private lesson cancellation policy
We recognise that there may be occasions when our pupils may be unable to attend or need to move their Private Lesson Bookings. Although we will endeavour to accommodate your needs, please notify us of your intention 48 hours prior to your arranged lesson so that this can be made available to other people in order to avoid a cancellation fee being charged.

Wedding and Anniversary First Dances
GBDance also has extensive experience of teaching couples to dance for your special day. We can suggest choreography to fit in with your own choice of music or suggest tracks that you could use.

Guide to experience levels needed to enjoy these classes

Level 1 beginners – Complete beginners with little or no knowledge of dancing please see below.

Level 2 improvers  – People with more than 4 months experience of Ballroom and Latin dancing

Level 3 -People with more than a years worth of experience of Ballroom and Latin dancing with experience of at least 8 of the 10 standard dances.

Joining level 1 beginners classes
Initially these classes are designed for couples with little or no experience of partner dancing. We teach 10 or so dances during the course and the knowledge of dance builds over time. At around 3 to 4 weeks after the course begins it becomes a very difficult task to join in and catch up with the rest of the class.

If you have some previous experience of Ballroom and Latin dance then it may well be possible for you to join a class after this point. If you have no experience of dance then we can offer Private tuition to fast track your learning to allow you to join the class at a later date. Typically you would learn dances at about double the rate that you would in a social class environment.

If however you would like to join a beginners class from the start you could e mail us and we can let you know when the next class's begin. Typically we run 3 new classes per year at different venues, days and times.

Free ample parking at all venues.

Partner dancing is a great skill and fun to learn allowing you to meet new people and learn new skills.

If you would like to discuss any dancing needs not covered above then we would be pleased to hear from you.

We look forward to seeing you soon.
